1. Do I need any previous dance experience?
No. For absolute beginners, I suggest taking a technique class before taking on a choreography class. Technique class will help you build a strong base and muscle strength.

2. Do I need a partner for the class?
No, flamenco is traditionally danced solo. If there is a paired choreography, one of your fellow students will be happy to partner you.

3. Are classes open to men?
Yes, everyone is welcome, regardless of gender, gender identity, and gender expression.

4. What is appropriate age for children’s class?
Anywhere between ages 2-10. Parents are welcome to take the class with their children.

5. Am I too old for flamenco?
Flamenco has something for everyone. No one is too old for dancing and it is never too late to start.

6. When do new classes begin?
The classes are ongoing. Check the class schedule and join at anytime.

7. How much are the classes?
Student fees are collected once a month. Your monthly student fee will depend on number of classes you are taking. Please visit schedule page to view the class fee chart.

8. What should I wear to class?
Everyone should wear comfortable clothes to class. Women can begin with a comfortable pair of shoes with sturdy, wide heels that are 1 1/2 to 3 inches high and hard soles (no platforms). Men should wear sturdy shoes or low boots with 1 to 1 1/2 inch heels.

9. Do I need to purchase flamenco shoes before taking classes?
No, take some classes first. When it's time for serious shoes, you'll know.

11. Do we have a guitarist in the class?
We have live accompaniment for ALL our class. None of our classes are taught to a recorded music.

12. Are private lessons available?
Private lessons are available by appointment. Please contact Zhanna Saparova at 816-718-9217 to make an appointment.

13. Can I give lessons as a gift?
Yes. We’ll be happy to provide you with gift certificates.

14. Can I videotape the class?
No. We encourage students to do audio recording.
